Cheques are 350 Years old as of today, gradually fading out.

This is a nationwide issue

Cheques are gradually fading out of circulation after being in use for the first time 350 years ago on Feb 16th.

This is because of society tends to use credit cards and eftpos facilities more and more.

The reality is, they are a dying form of payment. other than using a form of cheque authorization (which costs), there is no way of guaranteeing or checking if the cheque will clear. It is far more open to abuse and fraud than plastic based... see details
