Student Loan Is Not Enough
This is a nationwide issue
Affecting:

The current student loan is $160 which has just gone up from $150. I have only just realised the increase. I have read that they are now annually adjusting the student loan amount from the CPI.
I read about what the CPI is, it is a representation of the annual change in the cost of goods and services for private use.
I want to point out that the last year includes a huge drop due to the price change on petrol. This drop has reduced the overall increase in the CPI. That drop is because for a short amount of time the price of petrol was very high and not because of a long term trend.
The timing of the inclusion of the CPI on student loans is somewhat to be desired. I think the selection of the CPI on student loans is a misrepresentation because students don't spend money on what the rest of the country spends money on. If the price of petrol drops, the student loan shouldn't drop. Not many students can afford access to cars.
