Get newzealand.com selling tourism products online

Currently Tourism New Zealand's website, newzealand.com is a giant brochure that is promoted worldwide, no other NZ tourism website has that exposure and global marketing spend...but they don't offer travellers the ability to book anything...capture the visitor to book and pay when they are on the website - we have NZ companies who can provide online booking software already so lets use them!
Doing this may lead to increased visitors and will provide tourism operators with more certainty about their future bookings.

"This is a great idea, we need to be moving from simple promotion and informing an unknown audience to closing sales with first and last name customers, and using all of our online assets that we're investing in and getting traffic from to sell tourism products & services online."

"Like most products... Tourism is largely about marketing. Obviously, NZ has some of the greatest natural scenery of the English speaking world. The perception is that it is expensive and remote. A marketer would attack these perceptions. For example, the USD exchange rate right now makes travel to NZ very, very attractive. Only 12 hours from LA to Auckland... etc."

"Absolutely, we have just left the tourism industry and most of our bookings came from online, we must dominate the travel market, maybe get Peter Jackson to do another lord if the rings! "
