<description>I totally share your concern over this trend of outsourcing production to countries with a lower labour cost. The system is detrimental to our job market and economic system and does not truly benefit people in developing countries. Solution will come through consumerism changes. That is the new mission of retailers to inform consumers on the ethical values of what they are selling and to offer ethically produced merchandises. This has a cost as consumer must be prepared to buy at a higher price but that should not deter retailers as consumers have proved that they are ready to pay for ethics. Fair-trade coffee, tea and chocolate are highly successful all over western market. Consumers are growing concerned over economic new trends as they come to realize that massive delocalization and other business practices aiming unreasonable growth are detrimental to the citizen. Informed consumer, a choice of ethical products, with the right price and relevant quality, and right level of communication, this is all that is all that is needed to stop wild outsourcing and other ethically disputable practices.
